A Brief Action History...

Action and Action is a 5 piece, post-hard core band, which formed in the February of 2004 from the ashes of a local Uxbridge band featuring Chris Van Santen, (drums) Luigi Llama (Guitar) & Alan Marks (Guitar). The line-up started to take shape when Alan met Dave Collis whilst studying at East Berkshire College, bringing a bass to the back line. The band auditioned 2 singers before meeting Ambrose Neville through an advert in London's LOOT classifieds. A night at West London's finest Metropolitan for first meetings, an agreeable first rehearsal & Action and Action were formed.

The band worked through a couple of years of emo/ "mid-westmo" stylings & arrived at a debut EP, eventually getting to a 7" AA side release in 2006 under the self-created indie label, 1922 Recordings. Playing regular shows soon led to touring & a pairing with The Psyche Out Musikland Big Band on another double A side split 7" in 2007.

Late 2007 saw a line-up change when Chris left the band for personal commitments. Sam Luck from The Psyche Out Musikland Big Band had helped the band out for a few weeks when Chris had a broken foot, which was handy as he filled in to fulfill the bands live commitments during the Earth To Mars Tour in the October. A couple of months later Sam was still rehearsing with the band & inevitably he became a permanent fixture.

The band saw its first LP in 2009 & its first European tour with Cherry But No Cake in 2010. Since then the band has been writing & rehearsing, & generally getting a lot noisier! A new release is on the cards & 2012 should see the band back on the road again after a quiet 2011. In 2015 the members decided to push a last effort to release remaining written works and get a farewell stretch in, eventully closing Action and Actions active period in March 2015. A final track was then released through This is DIY in September 2015.
